The CHL Final between Frolunda Gothenburg and Sparta Prague will be officiated by two referees from Finland and two linesmen from Switzerland.
The referees are Mikko Kaukokari and Stefan Fonselius, both from the Finnish Liiga. The lines will be called by Roman Kaderli and Balazs Kovacs from the Swiss NLA.
“They’re all top ranked in their domestic leagues,” CHL Sports Director Bo Lennartsson says. “The two Finnish referees stood out with great performances in the Champions Hockey League, while the Swiss linesmen earned their assignments due to their performances in the CHL and at the Spengler Cup.”
Mikko Kaukokari, 36 years old, was assigned to the 2014 U18 World Championship, where he worked the gold medal game, and the 2015 World Junior Championship.
Stefan Fonselius, 40 years old, was assigned to both the World Championship and World Junior Championship in 2016, the latter of which he worked the bronze medal game.
Roman Kaderli, 38 years old, has worked numerous IIHF tournaments. Highlights include the World Championship and World Junior Championship in 2016, and the 2015 Continental Cup Final.
Balazs Kovacs, 30 years old, has been assigned to the 2014 World Championship Division I.B and the 2013 World Junior Championship Division I.B.
The CHL Final will be played on Tuesday, 7 February 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden at Frolundaborgs Isstadion. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster Sweden.
