Vitkovice Ostrava vs Krefeld Pinguine
Vitkovice host Krefeld knowing that only a win will be enough to keep them alive in the CHL. Trailing Die Pinguine by two points, and with a 2-0 loss against the Germans from the previous game, an overtime win won't be enough to avoid elimination, as Krefeld would have a better head-to-head record in the tie-break. Should Vitkovice win, then Krefeld would travel to Oulu needing a point in their final game.
"If we want to succeed, we need to score more goals than Krefeld during regulation time," Vitkovice coach Jakub Petr explained. "We've worked in practice on the things we had trouble with last game, changed some things, and I think this game will be better for us. The advantage should definitely be on our side. Last time we drove 14 hours there and played in front of a very noisy and energetic German crowd. Now we're playing at home and our fans will be ready."
"The game against Ostrava is our first final this season. My team is prepared to score and to win," said Krefeld coach Franz Fritzmeier.
